Hayesville Elementary School is nestled in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina. HES serves approximately 600 students ranging from Pre-K throu Title I Program Hayesville Elementary School consists of Pre-Kindergarten through 4 th grade. Hayesville Elementary School is also a Title I school. The Title I Program at Hayesville Elementary School aims to bridge the gap between low income students and the overall student population at the school. The United States Department of Education provides Title I funding in the form of supplemental funding to qualifying local school districts to meet the needs of both at-risk and low-income students. Title I funds are used at Hayesville Elementary School to improve curriculum, instruction, parental involvement and academic opportunities of our students. Title I funds are utilized to implement Response to Intervention (RTI), Great Leaps, Reach for the Stars and other instructional initiatives to improve student math and reading achievement. Title I initiatives are also focused on Common Core goals and objectives. It is our philosophy that a good school is like a good family, the foundation is absolute trust among all its members followed by open communication, respect, and a unified commitment toward the common good of others through teamwork. The result is the development of good character in young people who constantly experience adult role models with compassion, courage, self-discipline, and unconditional love.
