Title I Program

Hayesville Elementary School consists of Pre-Kindergarten through 4 th grade. Hayesville Elementary School is also a Title I school. The Title I Program at Hayesville Elementary School aims to bridge the gap between low income students and the overall student population at the school. The United States Department of Education provides Title I funding in the form of supplemental funding to qualifying local school districts to meet the needs of both at-risk and low-income students.

Title I funds are used at Hayesville Elementary School to improve curriculum, instruction, parental involvement and academic opportunities of our students. Title I funds are utilized to implement Response to Intervention (RTI), Great Leaps, Reach for the Stars and other instructional initiatives to improve student math and reading achievement. Title I initiatives are also focused on Common Core goals and objectives.

It is our philosophy that a good school is like a good family, the foundation is absolute trust among all its members followed by open communication, respect, and a unified commitment toward the common good of others through teamwork.  The result is the development of good character in young people who constantly experience adult role models with compassion, courage, self-discipline, and unconditional love.  When good families and good schools work together, students naturally become successful, confident, and caring citizens of tomorrow.

We believe...

  • Each student is an individual with unique needs, talents, and learning styles.
  • Each student should have an opportunity to experience a measure of success as they strive for excellence within their abilities.
  • Students should find it easy to ask for help.
  • Technology is of utmost importance in preparing our students for the future.
  • By participating in hands on activities students gain a concrete understanding of difficult concepts.
  • Communication between parents and our school is valued and encouraged.
  • Students need to have a sense of belonging that will result in increased respect, citizenship, and school pride.
  • The staff is a team that works together to meet the needs of students and the goals of the school.
  • Staff Development will be driven by the needs of students and the goals of the school.
  • Focus should be on teaching students not subjects.
  • Learning extends beyond the four walls of the classroom.
  • Parents are an integral part of a child's success in education.
  • We encourage our children to think, to reason, and to use information to solve problems in order to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.
