The HES Media Center serves both students and teachers with print and non-print resources. The center houses over 6,000 book titles including easy fiction, fiction, nonfiction, biography, and reference books. The center also includes a 30 station computer lab which provides students with opportunities to explore the many online educational resources available for elementary age learners.
Students and teachers are able to access the book collection using the Follett Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC). This system, which has replaced the printed card catalog, allows students and teachers to check on the availability of any book title in the media cneter. OPAC can be accessed from any computer on the campus network.
Every student in Kindergarten through Fourth Grade attends the media center weekly for book checkout and library skill activities. The center is open each school day from 7:45 AM until 3:00PM. Click on one of the topics below for more information.
