PRICING MEAL PRICES Student Meals: Why are prices so low? The school receives a reimbursement and a commodity food allocation from USDA for every student meal served. "Full-pay" student meals earn the school $.25 to help with some basic costs. The student price helps, but doesn't cover the total cost of producing and serving the meal. A la carte sales help pay for those meals. Clay County Schools' student meal prices for the 2010-2011 year: "FULL-PAY" ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENT: Breakfast ...... $1.00 Lunch .... $2.00 "FULL-PAY" MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT: Breakfast...... $1.00 Lunch.............$2.25 REDUCED-PRICE STUDENT: Breakfast ......
