Our First Grade year at Hayesville Elementary School is an exciting and busy one. We will be actively involved in many forms of learning. Reading and writing are incorporated through all aspects of the curriculum. Through games and hands on activities, learning Math is fun and challenging. We explore our world in Science and Social Studies.

Some instructional techniques include Writer's Workshop, Guided Reading, and the Fundations Phonics Program.

First Grade is a critical year for children's academic and social development. Our goal is that every child obtains a life-long love for learning.
