Fourth Grade is...

  • Learning about North Carolina History, including a trip to the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC.
  • Learning about living and non-living things that affect animals' lives; studying the different types of rocks and minerals and how they are used; the human body systems and good nutrition and healthy habits;
    and studying magnetism and electricity.
  • Building on math skills learned from Kindergarten through 3rd grade as well as adding new concepts such as "lonnnnngggg" division with 2-digit divisors; prime and composite numbers; fractions up to twelfths; and LOTS of problem-solving in all areas of math.
  • Preparing for the state writing test; Accelerated Reading Program (ARP); and building comprehension skills.
  • Cursive Handwriting.
  • Developing responsibilities necessary to make it in Middle School

But most of all, Fourth Grade is FUN!
