Elementary music is filled with fun songs that are sung as well as played with instruments. The students are exposed to many interesting sounds that the different instruments make.

Along with experimenting with our voices and instruments, musical terminology is used in class in order to develop the vocabulary required in understanding musical concepts and ideas. We cover music already familiar to the students and they are exposed to music all the way back to the 1600's.

The basics of music reading is learned early so by the time students are in fourth grade, a recorder is distributed to each student. Playing recorder requires a basic understanding of reading music in the treble clef as well as the rhythmic value of notes.

We have a great time learning through games, through songs, and most importantly through experience.
