Third Grade is a transition year for students. Students are expected to accept more responsibility. The state curriculum is also more demanding for Third Grade.

This is the first year students take the North Carolina End of Grade Test. Because of the greater curriculum and End of Grade Testing, it is very important that students miss as few days as possible, and that they accept more responsibility.
