Fourth Grade is...

Learning about North Carolina History, including many field trips such as the Oconaluftee Indian Village in Cherokee, NC and the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC

Learning about living and non-living things that affect animals' lives; studying the different types of rocks and minerals and how they are used; the human body systems and good nutrition and healthy habits; the moon phases; light refraction & reflection; and studying magnetism and electricity

Building on math skills learned from Kindergarten through 3rd grade as well as adding new concepts such as "lonnnnngggg" division; prime & composite numbers; many aspects of fractions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, equivalent fractions, & mixed numbers; and LOTS of critical thinking and problem-solving in all areas of math

Developing individual student responsibilities necessary to transition to Middle School
