GENERAL INFORMATION

Important Things for a Successful Kindergartner:

Some general things your child need to be able to do include: identifying his or her first name, have experience with books, recognize most letters of the alphabet, count objects to ten and understand directional words. Important motor skills include run, walk skip and hop. Fine motor skills include using scissors and glue, completing simple puzzles, throwing a ball and zipping/buttoning clothes. It is helpful for your child to know his or her parents name(s), home phone number, last 4 digits of social security number, body parts and birth date. Social/emotional skills include caring for personal items, taking care of toilet needs, getting along with others and working independently.
